Impact of Certification on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Ground Control Station (CGS) design
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) will be operating in the National Airspace System (NAS) in a few years. NASA has tasked Research Integrations with documenting the impact of 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations and guidance materials that may impact the design of UAS ground control stations (GCSs).
Human factors guidelines are needed for GCSs for UAS operations in the NAS. In 2012 areas to be included in guidelines will be identified. NASA feels that RII's knowledge and experience in flight deck certification and design and in NAS operations are a solid foundation for this project.
